Submission Process
We accept only electronic submissions via e-mail as attached documents. Authors are requested to preserve one copy of soft file and send the same file as attachment to the Editor at editor[AT]chitrolekha.com and chitrolekhamagazine[AT]gmail.com. Authors need to send a declaration via e-mail that they have read the “Policy and Terms” and will go by the same, and that the attached piece was not previously published in any form of media and/or is not being currently considered for publication by other publishing agencies.
Word-limits:
A. For full-length scholarly article: 3000-5000 words including notes and references and captions.
B. Short feature article: 1500-3000 words
C. Gallery/Photo Journey: 1000 Words
D. Book Review: 1000-1500 Words
Image Types and Sizes:
Image format: Jpeg only
Image size: minimum 1024 pixel on the longest side.
Format of the Articles:
We want authors to follow strictly the MLA style while preparing the articles. (Consult the quick references for MLA Style: MLA, Wikipedia, Purdue University). Authors are requested to include the following in the format of their pieces:
- Full Title with subtitle, if any.
- Authors should note that the main body of the text should be prepared in such a way that no formatting is needed afterwards. Heading, sub-headings, illustrations should be well accommodated within the main body of the article.
- All portions of the articles should be double line-spaced.
Language
The magazine is published in the English language and we accept both UK and US spellings.
Review Process:
We review the submitted works. We promise to conceal always the identity of both the reviewers and the author from both parties. Primarily the submitted articles will be considered by us for the confirmation of the standard and the scope of the magazine. If any submitted article fails to fulfill primary standard, the same will be rejected and the author will be communicated the decision promptly. If the editors are satisfied, they will select two or more reviewers for detailed consideration of the piece. Receipt of works is acknowledged as soon as possible (within 3 days). If you do not get any reply, resend the mail.
